2028 TG Polls: What About 73 Lakh Votes?

Telangana 2028 polls voter list revision

The state of Telangana is going to witness a very interesting assembly election campaign in 2028 or even possibly in 2029 as a significant version of the state electoral vote has been modified.

The latest round of SIR that has been carried out by the central election commission has virtually knocked out more than 73 lakh votes in the state.

Reportedly, more than 73.50 lakh voters in Telangana could face deletion from the electoral rolls after being categorised as absent, shifted or dead during the Special Intensive Revision.

To make it more interesting on the aspect of digitalisation of the votes, Hyderabad recorded the lowest digitisation rate at 58.89 per cent. This would essentially mean that a large portion of the Hyderabad voters.

All of these factors, including the possible deletion of more than 73 lakh votes could contribute to a complete shift in Telangana electoral outcome in the next election. This could significantly change the electoral trends as well.

There are multiple factors that could be causing this phenomenon. The list includes dual ownership that Andhra settlers have here, which will be obviously deleted by the authorities. Other factors include migrant labourers from other states who could have entered the voting list earlier.

Whatever might be the reason the final electoral numbers regarding the Telangana election are going to paint a very interesting picture with more than 20% of the state voters in question of deletion now.
