Telangana Congress leader Feroz Khan, who was earlier in the news for using inappropriate language against Kalvakuntla Kavitha, is back in the headlines. At that time, he defended himself by saying he was not fluent in Telugu, which explained his choice of words.
In a fresh statement, Feroz Khan told a social media channel that winning the Jubilee Hills by-election would not be easy for Telangana Congress due to a strong sympathy wave. He said this was his personal view and based on his own research.
He also stated that in his opinion, an MIM candidate is likely to contest from Jubilee Hills and could win if there is support from Chandrababu. His remarks have triggered political debate, with analysts saying it was unusual for him to bring up an MIM candidate when Congress is aiming to secure the seat left vacant after the death of BRS MLA Maganta Gopinath.
For Telangana Congress, this by-election holds prestige as the result will influence the party’s image and could impact its performance in future elections, especially local body polls. Feroz Khan’s mention of Chandrababu has divided opinions, with some analysts calling it a mistake since he is the Chief Minister of a neighbouring state, while others view it as a smart move because Jubilee Hills has influential members from CBN’s Kamma community.
Jubilee Hills is also home to leading industrialists and top business leaders. With political discussions intensifying, it remains to be seen how the Congress High Command will respond to this latest development within the party.
