TG Election Crackdown: Over 100 Crs in 7 Days!

In the lead-up to the Telangana assembly elections scheduled for November 30, there has been a significant crackdown on election inducements, with a remarkable seizure of over ₹100 crore within just seven days.

According to the reports, the seizures include various items:

1. Cash: A staggering ₹58.96 crore in cash was confiscated.

2. Precious Metals: Authorities seized ₹33.62 crore worth of metals, including 64.2 kilograms of gold, 400 kilograms of silver, and diamonds with a combined weight of 42.203 carats.

3. Liquor: Unaccounted-for liquor worth ₹6.64 crore, equivalent to 44,093 liters of liquor, along with 1,280 kilograms of black jaggery and 530 kilograms of a substance called “Alam.”

4. Drugs: Approximately ₹2.97 crore worth of drugs, including 1,133 kilograms of ganja and 0.3 liters of weed oil, were confiscated.

The total value of items seized between October 9 and 16 reached a staggering ₹1,09,11,15,917.

Several law enforcement agencies have been actively involved in these operations. In addition to cash, ganja, and liquor, significant quantities of gold and silver were also seized in various operations, with unaccounted cash being found in different locations.

The cumulative seizures valued at ₹109 crore have been made in the state of Telangana since the implementation of the model code of conduct on October 9.
