The suspense over Telangana local body elections has ended. The State Election Commission has released the schedule for MPTC, ZPTC, and gram panchayat polls. State election commissioner Rani Kumudini announced the full schedule today.
The elections will take place in five phases. The first two phases will cover MPTC and ZPTC polls, while the next three phases will cover gram panchayat elections. The first phase for MPTC and ZPTC will be held on October 23, followed by the second phase on October 27.
Gram panchayat elections will begin on October 31. The second phase will be held on November 4, and the final phase on November 8. Counting of votes for gram panchayats will be done on the same day. Counting for MPTC and ZPTC will take place on November 11.
The polls will be conducted across 565 mandals in 31 districts. Elections will be held for 5,749 MPTC and 565 ZPTC seats. A total of 12,733 gram panchayats and 1,12,288 wards will go to the polls, according to Rani Kumudini.
