Andhra Pradesh Police looks like have taken a cue from their Telangana counterparts. Recently Hyderabad Police have decided to go online to decrease the gap between the department and the common man. Now AP Police is doing the same. They have got on Facebook to receive complaints, help people in distress and impart knowledge on various laws to the citizen. Andhra Pradesh DGP JV Ramudu recently launched the Facebook pages of Nellore, Prakasam and Guntur districts and will take up these districts as pilot project and will slowly extend it to all the thirteen districts.
Police have targeted resolving all the complaints resolved through Facebook in 24 hours time. Police have also created a provision to make sure the details of the complainants stay within the department so as to encourage the citizens to be more vigilant. The department is planning to unleash a big publicity campaign regarding these pages to encourage people to become part.
