TRS has managed to retain the Nagarjunasagar seat. First-timer, Nomula Bhagath has piped Congress veteran leader, Jana Reddy to win the seat. Given the plight of Congress in Telangana, this result is not unexpected. But the performance of the BJP has come as a surprise in this election.
The party which has made so much noise with the Dubbaka by-election and GHMC elections has lost its steam completely after that. After the loss in the MLC elections, Nagarjunasagar has come as a shocker. The contest is between TRS and Congress but the poor performance of BJP can not be defended.
It is looking at less than 5% which means losing deposit here. This means the party has lost all the advantages it got in Telangana so far. There can be n number of reasons why TRS is first, Congress is second and why BJP is in third but nothing explains the fewer number of votes the party has got.
“Dubbaka and GHMC are flukes. They made some noise because Congress is in shambles. It is a dream that lasted so less for BJP in Telangana,” the Ruling party supporters ridicule
