Vineeth Ravuri, a 26-year-old Telugu man, is facing serious charges after being accused of attempting to pay for sex at a Secaucus hotel.
According to the woman involved, Vineeth Ravuri allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded his money back after she refused to continue their encounter in the hotel room. In the ensuing struggle, the woman sustained injuries to her finger and buttocks.
Despite Ravuri’s attempts to prevent her from leaving, the woman managed to escape and called for help. When police arrived on the scene, they found Ravuri with blood on his jacket and foot in the hotel lobby.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, criminal restraint, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and engaging in prostitution.
It’s surprising to witness a Telugu individual engaged in a type of crime in the US that is not typically associated with this community.
