TG Jagruthi To Contest In ZPTC Polls: Final?

Kavitha on TG Jagruthi ZPTC polls

TG Jagruthi appears set to contest the upcoming ZPTC polls in Telangana. Its president Kavitha is said to have taken a final call on entering the local body elections.

At the same time, leaders within the outfit are working to convert Telangana Jagruthi into a full-fledged political party. However, the registration process is expected to take up to three months.

Due to this delay, the organisation has decided to contest the municipal, ZPTC, and MPTC elections using the lion symbol of the All India Forward Bloc. This arrangement is being made until formal party recognition is secured.

Sources say Jagruthi leaders held discussions with AIFB representatives on this matter. It has been decided that Telangana Jagruthi will contest on the B form of AIFB with a combined logo.

Earlier, Kavitha had been non-committal about launching a political party. She had also stated that Telangana Jagruthi would not contest ZPTC polls as it was not yet a registered party.

Her remarks about being open to supporting any political party that approached her drew criticism. Several political parties felt her statements sent mixed signals.

Kavitha faced backlash for these comments, prompting questions over Jagruthi’s political direction. The latest move is now being seen as an attempt at damage control.

With this decision, Telangana Jagruthi appears ready to test its strength independently in the ZPTC polls. The coming weeks will reveal how voters respond to this shift.
