Time Is Near For Merger Of BRS?

The defection trend in Telangana has been continuing over the past few days. As of now, 10 BRS MLAs have switched to Congress and more are expected to join in the coming days.

However, BRS working president KT Ramarao called the defections unconstitutional and requested the speaker to disqualify all 10 MLAs who shifted to Congress.

This morning, KTR arranged a meeting with his MLAs to discuss the protocol violations in the state and submit a request regarding the same to the speaker.

Only a few MLAs attended the meeting, including Harish Rao, Sunita Laxma Reddy, Sabita Indra Reddy and Marri Rajashekar Reddy.

However, most of the MLAs skipped the meeting, raising more doubts about defections. 13 MLAs skipped the meeting today.

If we consider these 13 MLAs as the ones who can possibly defect to Congress, the total count of defected MLAs would be 23.

If BRS loses these 23 MLAs, their count will be 15 and the legislative party will be officially merged into Congress.

It is a huge downfall for a party which was the strongest in the state just a few months ago. Despite having such a strength, KCR and KTR failed to safeguard their leaders and that proves the internal disturbances in the party.
