Travel Time to Vijayawada From Hyd Cut to 2 Hours!

The Telangana government will be building a greenfield highway between Hyderabad and Vijayawada that will cut travel time to a mere 2 hours, said R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.

He assured that long-pending projects around LB Nagar will be completed soon. Reddy inspected the site at Vanasthalipuram Junction and reviewed the designs and proposals for the 6 km elevated corridor from LB Nagar to Pedda Amberpet. The Rs 650 crore project will ease traffic congestion.

Komatireddy shared that he got Rs 541 crore for LB Nagar-Malkapur project when he was a MP. He said he will now complete pending works as a minister.

The planned six-lane elevated corridor, including four completed elevated underpasses, will connect LB Nagar to Hayathnagar and Pedda Amberpet through Outer Ring Road, said Komatireddy.

The Minister revealed that Rs 2300 crore Gauravelli-Valigonda-Bhadrachalam greenfield highway is already under construction between Valigonda and Thorrur. The tenders are underway for Thorrur-Bhadrachalam stretch, he shared.

Komatireddy informed that the road between Andole Maisamma and Vijayawada, costing Rs 375 crore, is progressing rapidly. The Minister also said that they identified 17 black spots that were prone to high incidence of accidents. They will be taken care of on a priority basis to ensure safety, said Komatireddy.

The R&B Minister said Telangana will adopt Hybrid Annuity Model for development of roads in the state. On the occasion, Komatireddy said he and CM Revanth Reddy will soon meet Union Minister for Roads, Nitin Gadkari, for speedy approvals.
