Triangular Fight for Telangana BJP Chief

The BJP is still not done with celebrating Delhi win, but things have to go in other states. The saffron party is likely to choose its party chief in Telangana next week.

Though quite a few names were doing rounds, the fight has now turned triangular with three names coming to the forefront.

BJP former MLC N Ramachander Rao, Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri and a new entrant to the party Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender.

While leaders like DK Aruna and Raghunandan Rao lobbied for themselves in the national capital, the party high command is said to have narrowed down on three names.

Eatala is the face of BCs in the party and if the Lotus party tries to appease the largest section of the population in Telangana, it could go to Eatala. Though the state conducted census is being questioned, it has clearly shown that BCs constituted the highest numbers in the state.

Ramchander Rao meanwhile is a decades-old member who is said to be close to BJP’s Ram Madhav. As for Dharmapuri Arvind, he has made various trips to Delhi following the launch of National Turmeric Board.

A good number it is said feel that the old-timers must be given a chance, there are some who feel a BC face will be a good option, according to political grapevine.

In the past, Amit Shah had promised a BC CM if their party comes to power in Telangana.

It is being said the High command has spoken to various members including state presidents, in-charges and organizing secretaries and one name will be announced next week.

By then, PM Modi will also be back in the country.
