It is known to our readers that Telangana Cable Network MSOs have decided to ban the telecast of TV9 and Andhra Jyothy channels across the ten districts of Telangana in the pretext of spreading anti-Telangana news. Political parties and NGOs have condemned the ban and called it as undemocratic and hindrance to freedom of the press. All the opposition parties have called for the government to lift the ban after holding talks with concerned parties. No body are endorsing the programs aired but are asking to resort to legal implications for them.
However the ruling TRS party and the government which is supposed to safeguard the democracy has remained mum over the issue. TRS or the government is yet to speak out their opinion on the ban. On the other side, ABN-Andhra Jyothy MD Vemuri Radha Krishna alleges that KCR himself exerted pressure on MSOs to ban the channels and is intelligently being in sidelines saying government is not involved.
