Every year the government of Andhra Pradesh made it customary to announce the ‘Ugadi Puraskaraalu’ for noted persons in various arts and crafts of Telugu Culture. This year Telangana Government has decided to celebrate Ugadi in a grand manner and hence announced the awardees list who had been selected for the honours.
From Telugu Film Industry, two noted technicians from Telangana region are selected for the honours. One is ‘Jai Bolo Telangana’ director N.Shanakar who also directed superhit films like Venkatesh’s ‘Jayam Manadera’ and Sri Hari’s ‘Bhadrachalam’. Noted children literature writer and actor Bhoopal Reddy who played the protagonist in 2010 historical drama on Gonds’ struggle ‘Komaram Bheem’ was also selected for the honours.
Besides these two personalities from Telugu Cinema, Telangana government identified 19 other arts and crafts for the felicitation giving a lot of importance to the local art forms that need the patronage of the government of the survival. The award amount has been increased from Rs.5,116 to Rs.10.116 from this year.
