Uttarandhra Teachers MLC Votes Counting

In Uttarandhra Teacher’s constituency, the first preference votes have been counted. As none of the contestants reached the magic figure, the counting is on for second preference votes.

The counting is going on at Vizag AU Engineering College. In the first preference votes, PRTU contestant Gade Srinivasulu Naidu got 7210 votes, APTF alliance contestant Raghuvarma got 6835 votes. PDF contestant Vijayagouri managed to get 5810 votes.

In all, there were 20,783 votes, out of which 19,813 votes were valid. 2.3% votes were invalid. The fight is between these three candidates it is being said. The results are expected to be announced by 8pm today. The counting is being held amidst three-tier security at the centers.

Meanwhile, combined Godavari Graduates’ constituency voting is also going on. The counting began after sorting out the valid votes and invalid votes.

The counting is progressing as per rounds. In the first round, there were 10,783 valid votes while there were 13,929 in the second round. The third round saw 11,870, the fourth round saw 13,377, the fifth round polled 13,163 and the sixth round polled 14,783 votes.

The ruling NDA government is taking the polls rather prestigiously as they are the first local body polls after general elections. While they are confident of Graduates’ seats, the competition is tough in Teachers’ constituencies.
