Complete Prohibition On Liquor is one of the Navaratnalu of Jagan in the 2019 Manifesto.
But later, the Andhra Pradesh Government recorded Record Revenue from Liquor Sales and also filled their pockets by banning Popular Brands and allowing the sale of notorious Local Brands for commissions.
The government has gone to such an extent that it pledged the future income on the sale of liquor in the state. This means the income generated on the sale of liquor in the next 20 years will go straight to the banks towards repayment of debts that were raised then.
Back then, TDP used to allege that Jagan robbed the health of the father and gave the same money in the name of Amma Vodi to the children.
Former Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy admitted the allegation.
“Yes we pledged the revenues of Liquor but we used the money to fund four schemes like Aasara, Cheyutha, Rythu Bharosa, and Amma vodi,” Buggana said.
It is a shame that a Government claims it has ruined the health of the public to give freebies.
