Tamil cinema star Vijay Thalapathy created history by becoming the chief minister of Tamil Nadu in his very first attempt in the recent Tamil Nadu assembly election. This will go down as one of the most remarkable results in Indian politics in recent times.
However, the kind of PR game that is being implemented by Vijay’s team after he became the CM is becoming a bit too progressive.
Just last week, there was the social media campaign about Vijay, being one of the favoured choices for the Indian public for the position of the prime minister of the country.
It was extensively carried by credible channels that 9% of the participating population thinks Vijay is the next credible choice for the Prime Minister position. This is a bit of a farcical move, neutrals comment.
There is nothing wrong in doing strong PR for the kind of work that Vijay has been doing internally in Tamil Nadu. But projecting him as a prime minister candidate within three months of being elected as the CM is farcical by nature.
This is perhaps the reason why the major majority of the social media folk are not buying this social media narrative set by Vijay’s team one bit. In fact, it has backfired badly, and Vijay is being trolled on social media for the same.
There is this fine line of positive PR and troll worthy PR on social media and this needs to be found by Vijay’s team at the earliest if they’re to avoid further complications in the future.
