Who Asked For Sai Reddy’s Pressmeet?

Vijaysai Reddy’s unexpected pressmeet

Former Rajya Sabha MP Vijaysai Reddy held a pressmeet after a long break and interacted with reporters. He answered questions about his political future, but the session did not offer anything new, making the entire pressmeet appear unnecessary.

Sai Reddy repeated that the coterie around Jagan and the ill treatment he faced led to his exit from YSR Congress. He said he had been under pressure but never gave in. While he avoided commenting on Chandrababu Naidu’s administration, he made a critical remark about the MOUs signed at the recent Partnership Summit.

When asked whether he would return if Jagan invited him, Sai Reddy did not offer a clear answer. He also kept open the possibility of floating a new party. He again mentioned his long friendship with Pawan Kalyan and highlighted that he never spoke against him.

Sai Reddy explained that he spent the last ten months with books and agriculture. He even spoke at length about the books he had been reading. Yet, despite all this, the timing and purpose of the pressmeet remained unclear.

In Andhra Pradesh politics, Vijaysai Reddy had almost faded from public memory. His statements were the same as those made during his resignation from the MP post and the party. Nothing significant had changed in his stance.

So the question arises: who asked for this pressmeet? Public figures often struggle to stay away from media attention. Sai Reddy did not retire due to age. He stepped back fearing the consequences of his actions during Jagan’s rule. He even attempted to secure immunity by offering his Rajya Sabha seat to the BJP.

It appears he simply could not stay away from the spotlight for long. While he did manage to gather a few mikes, his pressmeet had little to no impact on the political landscape.
