The hopes of Reviving Vikram Lander of Chandrayaan 2 are fast vanishing. In Two Days, the Moon will have the night and the night on Moon will last for 14 days (as per our time). During this, the temperature on Southern Hemisphere of the Moon drops to Minus 200 Degrees Celcius.
Thereafter, the solar panels will not be able to energize and it will be too cold for lander Vikram to operate. The Electronic appliances in Vikram Lander can not work on such Temperature and Pragyaan Rover which is inside the lander will also not work.
Hence, the communication establishment is next to impossible. NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) failed to spot Chandrayaan 2 Vikram lander due to the long shadows as it was near dusk. It posed a challenge in capturing images due to poor lighting.
ISRO is expected to announce the mission failure in a day or two. It may be known to our readers that Vikram Lander had a crash landing just a few hundreds of meters from the Lunar Surface. Even though the lander failed, the orbiter will continue to revolve around the Moon sending vital information for around a year.
