A study revealed in Andhra University reveal that over 80% of employees of Information Technology (IT) and IT enabled Services (ITeS) companies in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) limits revealed that Headache is a major health problem and is common for them.

This study was commissioned by GLS Ravi Kumar, superintendent of department of commerce and management studies, Andhra University and is titled ‘HR Interventions for Work Life Balance and Employees’ Wellness in IT Sector – a case study of select IT and ITeS companies in Visakhapatnam’.
This study was conducted on 3,403 employees working in various IT and ITeS companies in the city including 1,202 women employees and 80.1% of respondents feel headache is the major health problem. This apart, 22% of them said they suffer from high blood pressure. Nearly 14.6% of the respondents said they are suffering from diabetes. This apart, nearly 8.4% of the participants admitted that they suffer from heart diseases as they are unable to balance personal or family life and work pressure.
