Situations are swiftly deteriorating at the Line of Control between India and Pakistan. The situation is escalating and in all probability, war may become imminent at this point. The Schedule for the General Elections was supposed to be announced in the First Week of March by the Election Commission.
At this point, the announcement may be deferred. If the war becomes imminent, the elections may be postponed until it is concluded. Conducting elections will require a huge number of Central Forces to be deployed but now their presence is needed all along the Border between India and Pakistan given the hostile situation.
Also, the Government has to fully focus on the defense situation until the peace prevails. There have been three wars between India and Pakistan after the Partition and the country has won all of them. This time, Pakistan is isolated internationally for aiding terrorism on its soil.
