Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan will fly to Delhi today and are likely to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda regarding the alliance.
If the talks succeed, TDP will formally join the alliance.
Everybody is eagerly waiting to see how many seats the BJP will get to contest in the alliance.
Reports say that BJP is asking for eleven Assembly seats and five MP seats.
Another report says the BJP is likely to get five Parliament segments and eight assembly segments. TDP may offer one Rajya Sabha and cut down the Parliament seats to four, the same source says.
The second report looks reasonable when we consider the strength of the BJP in Andhra Pradesh.
If the first proposal goes through, there is a chance that the YSR Congress will get a majority of these seats on a platter.
Also, BJP getting eleven when Janasena gets only twenty-six is too much. There will be disappointment from Janasainiks as well.
We will have to see what happens in Delhi today!
In 2014, TDP gave 12 seats to BJP in 2014 elections in the Narendra Modi wave. Their condition has got deteriorated after that due to going back on Bifurcation promises and Special Status.
But the tragedy is that the BJP feels it is better placed now and is demanding more seats.
