Union Government has once again confirmed that there is no chance of giving any Tax Exemptions to Andhra Pradesh. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari told this in Lok Sabha to a question by YSR Congress MP, Avinash Reddy. Gadkari went on to say that Tax Exemptions if given, should be implemented across the country and can not be given to any state.
This is a massive embarrassment to YSR Congress Government because Jagan has come to Power promising to achieve everything promised in Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. A few days ago, the Union Government categorically refused Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. Several BJP leaders have repeated the same.
Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and his ministers are totally silent about these developments. Opposition TDP Party accuses that Jagan fears Central Government pursuing pending cases on him if the State Government tries to question it.
YSR Congress is currently enjoying the honeymoon period after that landslide victory but it may not have the liberty of being silent forever and escape Scot free. People will slowly start questioning the government and start doubting its commitment. So, Jagan has to find a way out of this issue.
