Municipal polls are fast approaching and the elections fever is gripping the entire state. AS these municipal polls come just before the General elections, they are crucial for all the political parties to perform well and make a mark on voters. The results of these elections are viewed as a survey for the main elections. And they are termed as Semi finals by the experts.
Congress Party had a very torrid time. The 127 years party found it tough even to field candidates in the election at Seema Andhra region. Telugu Desam Party is nicely poised but is lacking proper star campaigning. The party president is not recognising the importance of the election and is busy in the preparations for main elections. On the other side, YSR Congress had already hit roads and campaigning vigorously through Jagan, Sharmila and Vijayamma. Other parties are not even considered for competition.
In Telangana region, Telangana Rashtra Samiti seems to be hot favourite but the lack of proper cadre and mechanism in many districts is hurting the party’s prospects. Congress Party is cruising here with good poll management capability. Telugu Desam Party, BJP and Communists may have to contain only with handful of seats this time.
