After all the humiliation Congress suffered at the hands of BRS between 2014 and 2023, it is imminent that Revanth Reddy would want to take revenge. After the elections, KCR would always empty Congress and merge Congress LP into the BRSLP.
However, Revanth Reddy wanted to stop the defections until the Parliament elections because we do not know how the voters would react to that. But then, suddenly there is a change in plan.
Earlier this week, we saw Revanth Reddy admit MLA Danam Nagender and MP Ranjith Reddy into the party. There are rumors that four BRS MLAs are joining Congress very soon.
There are reports that at least thirty BRS MLAs are in touch with Revanth Reddy and AICC has given the nod for their joining.
But then, why did Revanth change his plan and admit the leaders before the Parliament elections?
BJP is admitting BRS leaders and Congress is worried about that. Revanth Reddy believes that the 2028 elections will be between Congress and BJP and it is important that he does not hand the advantage to the Saffron Party.
Congress party lacks organization and cadre in the Northern and Central Telangana regions. They are severely lacking second and third-rung leaders in several districts. The leaders here are up for grabs. If Congress does not hurry, these leaders may go into the BJP.
So, Revanth Reddy changed his strategy.
Also, there is an impression that People are not unhappy with Congress encouraging defections as they only see it as revenge to KCR. So, Revanth Reddy decided to empty BRS even before the Parliament elections.
Meanwhile, it is important for KCR to buckle up and do something immediately. Or else BRS will be relegated to a third position like JD(S) in the neighboring Karnataka while Congress and BJP fight it out for Power.
