
Senior IAS officer Praveen Prakash, known for his influential position in the previous YCP government, announced voluntary retirement soon after the Chandra Babu government came to power. Praveen was known for his close association with former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and top YCP leaders.

He has been lying low since the NDA came into power. Meanwhile, he now plans to withdraw his decision and join the service.
During YS Jagan’s tenure, Praveen Prakash held a powerful position and was given substantial autonomy by YS Jagan. Despite his earlier dominance, after the coalition government took charge, Praveen Prakash distanced himself from his duties, eventually applying for VRS, which the new government approved in no time.

But now, Praveen Prakash is seeking a service return and has filed an appeal with the government. He cited mental stress as the reason for his initial decision to opt for VRS.
According to government rules, an officer can withdraw their VRS within three months of taking it, but this requires the approval of the Chief Minister.

Now, the ball is in Chandrababu Naidu’s court. He alone will decide whether Praveen Prakash can re-enter service.
