Andhra Pradesh Government is starting 100 Anna Canteens from tomorrow as an Independence Day Special. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the first Anna Canteen in Gudivada tomorrow.
Even though another 80 Anna Canteens are ready, the contractor Harekrishna Movement is not ready to supply food for those canteens and sought some more time.

These eighty canteens may begin from this month-end or September 5th.
Meanwhile, the Government released the list of 100 Anna Canteens.

Interestingly, there are no canteens in Vishakapatnam district and this has become a talking point.
In the first phase, 100 canteens were to be opened in 49 urban local bodies in 17 districts, but due to the MLC elections, it was postponed in the erstwhile Visakhapatnam district.

People of Vishakapatnam may have to wait for one more month.
The highest number of Anna Canteens – eleven are being established in Vijayawada city.
Seven in Guntur and Nellore, 5 in Kakinada, 4 in Eluru, and 3 in Rajamahendravaram will be available in the first phase.
