However, this has not been possible for YSRCP MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. He won Punganur with a narrow margin of around 6,000 votes over TDP candidate Challa Ramachandra Reddy.
Since taking the oath, Peddireddy has tried to visit his constituency but has failed to do so. On June 13th, Peddireddy planned to visit the area. Upon learning of his arrival, TDP cadres conducted a rally and dharna to oppose Peddireddy’s entry into Punganur town. Their agitation forced the police to stop Peddireddy’s visit.
Meanwhile, there have been many political changes in Punganur Municipality. The majority of YSRCP councillors have switched over to TDP due to Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s attitude. Both Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and Midhun Reddy are dismayed by this development.
In this scenario, Midhun Reddy is trying to visit Punganur to console the YSRCP councillors. He planned to visit and conduct a meeting with them in Punganur town on Sunday. Midhun Reddy, who is staying in Tirupati, planned to travel to Punganur by road. However, TDP and Jana Sena cadres are protesting again, opposing Midhun Reddy’s entry into Punganur town.
The reason for the TDP cadre’s anger is well-known. In the past, Peddireddy’s followers chased TDP cadres out of villages. Some TDP members had to leave their homes and stay away from their families for months.
The TDP cadre will never forget CBN’s recent visit to Angallu cross-roads, where YSRCP tried to stop CBN from entering via Punganur. All these events have made the TDP cadre resolute against the Peddireddy family.
