Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has completed the allocation of ministries to his colleagues, taking precautions with the help of Congress leadership to avoid dissatisfaction in department allotments.
However, Revanth has retained key portfolios such as the Home Ministry and Municipal Administration, causing concern and tension among opposition BRS leaders. As an opposition leader, Revanth Reddy has previously made numerous corruption allegations against BRS leaders.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) received a complaint from Telangana Advocate Rapolu Bhaskar regarding corruption in the Kaaleswaram Irrigation project, demanding a case be filed against former Minister Harish Rao. As of now, the ACB has not made any decisions on this matter.
If Revanth Reddy orders an inquiry as the Home Minister into corruption allegations surrounding Kaaleswaram, it could pose a significant challenge for BRS leaders. People also believe this due to the concerns about the construction of the irrigation project pillars.
It appears that the next target for Revanth Reddy is the Outer Ring Road (ORR) lease. He has previously alleged that the BRS government leased maintenance of the Outer Ring Road to a private company in Maharashtra. When he was the opposition leader, Revanth demanded that the BRS government disclose the agreement papers with the company.
The entire issue falls under the purview of the Municipal Ministry. Revanth will soon review the ORR lease with municipal officers, and if he finds any deviations from the rules, he is likely to press BRS leaders on this matter.
