Gali Janardhan Reddy who is in jail in the Obulapuram Mining Case has filed a petition with the Nampally CBI Court. He requested that he be provided additional facilities at Chanchalguda jail.
Right now, his petition is being reviewed by the registry. It is known that the CBI Court sentenced him to 7 years in prison regarding the Obulapuram Mining Case. Gali through his company Obulapuram Mining Company indulged in illegal mining of iron ore in Bellary forest reserve area in Anantapur, AP. The case started in 2009 and the judgement was given in 2025.
We had reported earlier that Gali was in regular jail clothes when his wife and daughter came for mulakhat. If one looks at past politicians who spent time in jail, a variety of facilities were provided like increased talk time with visitors, food from outside or cooked in a special kitchen, AC, western-style toilet, a bed, etc. Some were even provided wi-fi and internet.
It’s a wait and watch time for Gali as to what facilities he will be granted, in case they are granted.
