Reddy Community identified themselves with the Congress Party for several years. After the Congress party’s decline, they are with the YSR Congress now. Reddys took 2019 as a prestigious election. They thought it was a crisis of existence for their community.
Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet had more Reddys than Kammas even then Reddy community took Jagan’s side.
But then, they are regretting their decision big time. It is obvious that the Reddy community got the majority of contracts and sub-contracts in Jagan’s regime. They either executed themselves or gave away to others.
But then, Jagan focused so much on freebies, that these bills were delayed by an eternity.
Most contractors were debt-ridden and a few even committed suicides. Reddys not only lost their money but also felt insulted before others whom they recommended for work.
Everyone from the supporters to small leaders to Sarpanchs and even MLAs were made dummies due to Volunteers and lack of funds in hand.
Reddys initially vowed to work against Jagan or stay away from politics given this environment.
This segment of Reddys is very crucial in electioneering for YSR Congress because they spend money, mobilize people, and take up ground work after the code is implemented.
The YSR Congress core team is trying to lure them once again by using Chandrababu Naidu as bait.
They are asking the Reddy community to become active once again saying that they fulfilled their dream of jailing Chandrababu Naidu. “You should come work again for Jagan or Chandrababu will come out and finish Jagan. That will be a crisis to Reddy’s identity,” they are saying to poke the community.
We will have to see if they forget all those insults and work again for Jagan.
