Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was supposed to attend the Nampally CBI Court the other day in Hyderabad but his lawyers have asked for and got an exemption for the court appearance. They filed a petition saying that Jagan is busy with the administrative works and a meeting of MLAs and MPs. The court has allowed it.
YSR Congress General Secretary Vijaya Sai Reddy also sought permission for the same reason and did not attend the court. Jagan’s Lawyers are planning to file a petition very soon to exempt the Chief Minister totally from Personal Appearances before the court every week since he is a busy man with the administration.
Jagan will appeal to the court traveling to the other state is also a security concern. Given that Jagan is on favorable terms with the Central Government, YSR Congress supporters are expecting a favorable judgment in this matter. The weekly court appearance has been a thorn in the flesh of Jagan for years.
Even during his Padayatra, he was forced to break it every week and appear before the court. This has also damaged his reputation politically. If it is exempted the further hearings will have no bearing politically because the cases would take ages to get solved.
