Liquor prohibition is a passee in Andhra Pradesh now. Jagan government is busy minting money from the liquor sale.
The government now announced a Bars policy which will be in force for the next three years.
That means the promise of asking for votes only after prohibition has disappeared.
The new policy will come into force in September.
840 bars in three categories will be allowed to operate across the state. The government will get huge money through license fees, annual fees, application fees, etc
The government also extended the timings of the bars. They can now operate between 11 AM and 11 PM every day except on dry days.
The bars in three-star hotels can operate until 12 AM.
Jagan government after coming to power ordered stopping liquor sales by 7 PM and later extended the timings till night. It is now happening with the bars as well.
It has to be seen what Jagan will tell the people about going back on Prohibition which is a crucial promise of his Navaratnalu.
