One more political experiment of YSR Congress seem to have backfired on the party. The opposition party pushed the Kapu reservations issue aggressively so as to corner the government. The Chief Minister was mostly successful in exposing YSR Congress’ behind the door support to the agitation.

Further its leaders were publicly present in all the agitations. This irked the BC supporters of the party. Adding to that, the state government managed to convince Mudhragada to withdraw his fast unto death with out much damage.
So YSR Congress did not derive enough mileage with Kapu community too. The party is of the opinion that they have overreacted in the issue and got damaged themselves unnecessarily which is a headache of the ruling party. But these kind of self goals have become common for the party after 2014 defeat.
