YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSR Congress Party experienced a crushed defeat in the recently held general elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Out of 175 assembly and 25 parliament seats, YCP managed to win 11 and four seats respectively.
Meanwhile, BJP MLA Nallimilli Rama Krishna Reddy alleged that Jagan is now planning to merge his party into Congress.
He stated that Jagan recently met DK Shiva Kumar in Bengaluru and assured him that he would merge YCP into Congress if his sister Sharmila was removed from the party.
“Jagan doesn’t know how many of his 11 MLAs and four MPs would travel with him. He doesn’t know if his Rajya Sabha MPs will stay with him or not. He is in such a helpless state that he decided to join the Congress party,” stated Rama Krishna Reddy.
Jagan began his political career with the Congress party. After the death of his father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, he was imprisoned by the same Congress party and later, he formed the YSR Congress Party.
Now, Nallimilli Rama Krishna Reddy’s allegations are making people wonder if Jagan is indeed planning to merge his party with the Congress.
Notably, his sister Sharmila is currently serving as the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee.
