YSR Congress MPs today met Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and filed a written complaint about SPY Reddy elected from Nandhyala under party defection code. SPY Reddy even before taking the oath joined Telugu Desam Party and is participating in TDP Parliamentary board meetings since then. They have asked the honorable speaker to disqualify SPY Reddy under anti-defection law.
Earlier after the election, it is said that anti-defection law or whip does not apply to YSR Congress as the party is just a registered party but not a recognized party. But later election commission conferred Recognition to YSR Congress and made it clear that anti-defection law will be applicable for YSR Congress too. On the other side, SPY Reddy confidently says that he won the election on his personal image and will win once again from TDP too.
