In April this year, just before the elections, YSR Congress MLC Thota Trimurthulu is convicted in a 28-year-old Dalit Tonsuring case. He was awarded 18+6 months jail term by a Special Court in Vishakhapatnam.
Even though there was a public ire, Jagan Mohan Reddy did not care and gave him Mandapeta Ticket. Thota lost with a whopping 44,435 votes margin.

Probably, Thota was emboldened by the support of Jagan and he once again made casteist comments. And this time about his own Kapu community.
In the garb of advising the Kapu community, Thota made insulting comments in a Kapu Vanabhojanam Event.

“సమాజంలో ఒక రెడ్డి కారు కొంటే గారు బ్రహ్మాండమైన కారు కొన్నారంటారు. ఒక చౌదరి ఇల్లు కడితే చౌదరి గారు గొప్ప బిల్డింగ్ కట్టారని చెప్పుకుంటారు. కానీ కాపోడు స్కూటర్ పై వెళ్తుంటే ఎక్కడ కొట్టుకొచ్చాడని అంటుంటారు. ఇది కాపులు సిగ్గుపడాల్సిన విషయం,” Thota said.
Like any community, the Kapu community will have issues. But the real problem is with the people like Thota Trimurthulu.

They take themselves as Gods and look down upon the lower strata of the community.
When you are from a community and you yourself make easy comments on your community, you are obviously giving a chance to others.
When someone from the community makes loose comments, they are automatically validated and show your community in a poor light.
If Thota was reprimanded by Jagan when he was convicted in the Dalit Tonsuring Case, things like this would not repeat.
