This is indeed a surprising and intriguing political development. Adala Prabhakar Reddy emerged as the Nellore MP in the 2019 elections. However, after Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy left the YSRCP, Jagan appointed Adala as the incharge for the Nellore Rural segment.
YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy is set to contest as the Nellore MP in the upcoming elections. The question arises: Who will contest the Nellore Parliament seat from the TDP? When compared to the YSRCP, the TDP appears to lack a strong candidate for Nellore.
Beeda Mastana Rao, who contested as the Nellore MP for the TDP in the 2019 elections, has since joined the YSRCP and secured a Rajya Sabha seat. The TDP is actively searching for a suitable candidate to field.
According to sources, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, who was elected to Parliament from Ongole, is likely to be the TDP’s candidate in Nellore. Magunta joined the TDP just before the elections and is preparing to file his nomination papers as the TDP candidate for the Nellore Parliament seat.
Sources suggest that formal discussions have been completed with CBN on this matter. Even YSRCP leaders are aware that Magunta might leave the YSRCP in the next elections. Reportedly, Magunta joined the YSRCP somewhat reluctantly in the 2019 elections but still managed to win the Ongole MP seat.
His dissatisfaction stems from Jagan’s handling of his son’s involvement in the Delhi Liquor scam. While Jagan appears eager to assist Sarat Chandra Reddy in the scam, he seems to have neglected Magunta. This has led to frustration and irritation on Magunta’s part, and he appears to be waiting for an opportunity to make a political move against YS Jagan.
