What Is the Film About?

Siddhu (Siddhu Jonnalagadda) and Vineetha (Seerat Kapoor) are collegemates and are poles apart in character. They fall in love and later get married unintentionally. The video of their marriage and the celebration after that goes viral on social media creating a lot of problems in their personal lives. Rest is all about what they do to come out of the mess.

How Is Performance?

Siddhu Jonnalagadda who made an instant impression with his last film, Krishna and His Leela performed well in a character which is largely an extension of the previous film. He is at ease in the flamboyant character. Good writing should have helped him further. Coming to the flip side, he struggled when he needs to emote. Two car scenes in the second half exposed his vulnerability in emotional sequences.

Direction?

Aditya Madala chose a minimum guarantee genre of a light and breezy Rom-Com for his debut. He got a good casting as well and also has good resources in hand to make a good effort. But then, he may have let himself down. While there is decent fun in the subject, there is no emotional depth in the story.

The chemistry between the lead pair did not work and the audience will not connect to the characters. For once, we do not know why the heroine responds to the actor in the first place and how she allowed the crazy wedding. In the later parts, there is no insight into her suffering when such a serious issue has happened. Aditya and the writer, Siddhu Jonnalagadda have to take the blame for it.

The first half of the film is decent. The second half is also fine until the marriage and we feel too much of drag when the video goes viral testing the patience of the audience. The climax is okay for what has happened till then. Finally, Maa Vintha Gadha Vinuma is an okay watch. Even though the movie carries its share of flaws, it is manageable for a digital watch with that fast forward button at places. The quality in the making and the good technical values particularly the music also help it.

Others?

Seerat Kapoor is a glam-doll all her career and there is no improvement in this film as well. Her poor performance combined with disappointing characterization made the heroine character a showpiece. Tanikella Bharani is superb as usual. It is a character tailormade for him and he walks through it effortlessly. Fish Venkat is fine in a cameo. Rest of the characters – Kamal Kamaraju, Pragathi, and others are okay in whatever they are given.

Music and Other Departments?

Sricharan Pakala and Rohit Joy rocked the show with an excellent background score. There are a couple of songs which come in the background which are good as well. His work actually helps the film to some extent. The screenplay is disappointing while the dialogues are quirky. The camera work is too good for an OTT film. Editing should have been better especially in the second half. The production values are good.

Better Characterizations especially to that of the heroine’s (and even to the hero’s to some extent) to ensure the audience empathize with the characters and a bit of trimming in the second half would make the film more enjoyable.
