The nomination process started in Telangana. Noted Congress leader Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy officially submitted his nomination today. Ponguleti is contesting in the Palair constituency and, accompanied by his brother Prasad Reddy, formally presented his nomination papers to the returning officer.
In a simultaneous move, Ponguleti’s loyal associate Payam Venkateshwarlu also filed his nomination as a Congress assembly candidate for the Pinapaka constituency. Another close aide of Ponguleti, Koram Kanakayya, followed suit by submitting his nomination for the Illendu constituency, although it’s worth noting that the Congress party’s confirmation of his ticket remains pending.
In the midst of these developments, election officials have taken necessary precautions to ensure a smooth nomination process without disruptions. A 144-section has been enforced within a 100-meter radius of the Returning Officer’s centre.
