Superstar Rajinikanth played a special role in the upcoming Tamil film Lal Salaam, which is directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project. It was initially slated for Sankranthi 2024 release. But the release is postponed now.
Lyca pushed Lal Salaam to a later date and is coming up with Arun Vijay’s Mission Chapter:1 for Pongal. Directed by Vijay, this movie features Amy Jackson and Nimisha Sajayan as female leads.

Meanwhile, new release date of Lal Salaam is expected to be announced soon. The other Tamil films which are in Pongal race are Dhanush’s Captain Miller, Vijay Sethupathi’s Merry Christmas and Siva Karthikeyan’s Ayalaan.
