YSR Telangana Party president Y.S. Sharmila has declared that her party will not contest in the Telangana Assembly Elections 2023 and will extend support to the Congress party. She penned a letter to Rahul Gandhi regarding the same.
The reason for the change in plans is not to waste an opportunity to end the “corrupt and dictatorial” rule of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Sharmila emphasized her desire not to divide the Congress vote share. This announcement follows earlier speculations about her party’s collaboration with Congress, and her party’s initial plan to contest in 119 constituencies.
