The DC Extended Universe (DCEU), an American media franchise and shared universe featuring a series of superhero films and television shows produced by DC Studios, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures has suffered consecutive financial setbacks this year.
In 2023, the budgets for DC releases were as follows:
- ‘The Flash’ – $220 million
- ‘Shazam 2’ – $125 million
- ‘Blue Beetle’ – $104 million
None of them have turned a profit so far.

The next release, ‘Aquaman 2,’ with a budget of $215 million, is set to be released in December 2023.
