A very shocking and embarrassing news is coming from Raipur. Shaheed Veer Narayan Stadium is hosting the fourth India vs Australia T20I tonight but the stadium has got no electricity!
It is not a joke but reality. An international stadium is expected to have the best services possible but this stadium doesn’t even have basic ones.
The reason for this is not paying the electricity bills that amount to ₹3.2 crore and hasn’t been paid since 2009. The connection was cut in 2009 after which efforts were made to provide 200 KV to the stadium. But the requirement is near 1000 KV. This means that many areas of the stadium would be without any electricity.
This is nothing short of a scam for the fans who have paid in full for the ticket but will not get the basic facilities. Both the Sports Department and PWD are blaming each other for negligence of the standing bills but neither is paying the bill either.
India will face Australia in the fourth match of the the five match series with the intention of winning the series. India leads the series by 2-1
