Banjara Hills and Himayat Nagar have entered the Top 50 shopping streets in the Asia Pacific region as per Cushman & Wakefield’s Main Streets Across the World 2025. Both areas share the 48th rank with rents of Rs 2680 per square foot per year.
The survey focuses only on premium high street stretches where brands pay for high visibility, steady footfall and reliable buying patterns. These locations represent strong retail behaviour and consistent demand.
Banjara Hills is known for its calm setting with coffee shops and branded stores that attract relaxed shoppers. Himayat Nagar has a neighbourhood vibe where families and students shop at jewellers, bakeries, fashion stores and book shops throughout the day.
Brokers say both areas serve as testing grounds for mid luxury brands before they expand to cities like Mumbai or Bengaluru. While Banjara Hills draws lifestyle and design focused outlets, Himayat Nagar appeals to value brands with loyal repeat customers.
Khan Market in Delhi stands as India’s costliest shopping street, ranking 24th in the Asia Pacific list with rents of Rs 19,940 per sq ft annually. Connaught Place also appears on the list with strong retail demand.
So the next time you plan a shopping trip, consider Banjara Hills or Himayat Nagar.
