There have been numerous efforts to do away with the colonial practice of enforcing strict dress codes for various places in the past few decades. However, we find that there are certain places where you’ll find it difficult to dress as you please. A man has posted a video on X in which he is allegedly denied entry into a bank because he was wearing half pants.
The video has gone viral on the internet in which security of a bank can be seen stopping the man from entering. The incident is of a Bank Of India branch in Nagpur. The man can be heard asking if there’s a rule or policy that mandates a dress code for customers.
This is not the first incident when a person was barred entry because of their outfit in a bank. A video of a bank in Kolkata with a similar case had surfaced in 2021. Netizens were quick to respond to the viral video.
Bank Of India soon issued a clarification taking to X that no such policy of dress code exists for customers. These self imposed rules are often criticized as exclusion policies.
