A 33 year old man was arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly killing his parents at their home on February 11, 2026. The incident happened in Vignan Nagar and shocked residents in the surrounding neighbourhood.
The victims were Naveen Chandra Bhat, 60, a retired Navy officer, and his wife Dr Shyamala Bhat, 55, a dentist. Their son, who had recently returned from the United States, is accused in the case.
Police say the incident followed a serious argument over personal and financial matters. Neighbours reported hearing loud shouting from the house during the morning hours.
The couple was found with severe injuries and was immediately taken to hospital. Despite medical efforts, both of them could not survive. Police have registered a murder case and the investigation is continuing.
