A controversial video allegedly featuring Rasra Sugar Mill Chairman Babban Singh Raghuvanshi has surfaced in Ballia, causing a political ripple.
The footage, reportedly recorded around three weeks ago during a wedding in Bihar, allegedly shows Babban Singh engaging in objectionable behavior with a female dancer. The video has been widely shared on social media, prompting sharp exchanges between prominent figures in the region.
Babban Singh, who is associated with the BJP and has previously contested elections from the Bansdih constituency, claims that the video is part of a political conspiracy aimed at damaging his reputation.
He has accused supporters of local MLA Ketki Singh of orchestrating the leak. Singh also stated that he would approach the police superintendent to register a formal complaint.
According to him, his growing influence and proximity to key political leaders in the state may have triggered attempts to defame him.
MLA Ketki Singh has firmly denied the accusations, stating that Babban Singh is old enough to be her father and that she has no involvement in the matter.
She added that she is focused on developmental work and has no interest in such tactics. She also remarked that no one can be forced into such a video, and that the public already knows the kind of statements and actions Babban Singh is known for.
While the controversy brews, no FIR has yet been filed. Local BJP leaders have chosen not to comment on the matter, keeping a noticeable distance from the incident.
