Travellers have taken offence at Air India Express. This is because more than 300 cabin crew members have taken “mass sick leave,” resulting in the cancellation of over 86 flights.
Social media posts feature angry and frustrated passengers fighting with airport workers in Delhi. A further complaint from travellers was the airline’s shortage of lodging, which left them waiting to board their rescheduled flights at the airport overnight.
A video showed travellers at the airport in Delhi voicing their complaints to ground staff after the airline cancelled flights as a result of a high number of cabin crew members reporting sick.
The passengers might have been forced to spend the night at the airport due to crew dissatisfaction with new employment and compensation circumstances following the airline’s merger with Tata Group.
In order to minimise disruption to passengers, Air India Express has acknowledged the disruptive impact on both local and international operations and is aggressively addressing the issue. The crew is having a conversation to figure out why the flights were cancelled.
