Manjeet Mishra Shot Dead in Greater Noida

Yet another case of Women centric law enforcement seems to be going down. 29-year-old Manjeet Mishra, was shot dead in Greater Noida, allegedly over a family dispute. Police arrested his brother-in-law, Sachin Singh Rathore, for planning the murder, but his wife, Megha Singh, has not been taken into custody.

Mishra had married Megha after an eight-year relationship, but the marriage soured within weeks. She moved back to her family, and Mishra soon faced legal cases for domestic violence and dowry. Megha’s family allegedly demanded ₹1 crore as compensation for wedding expenses.

Frustrated over the ongoing case, Sachin hired a gunman through his shop worker, Praveen Kumar, for ₹15 lakh. On the day of the murder, they followed Mishra’s car, rear-ended it, and shot him in the head when he stepped out to check the damage.

The killers fled on a bike without a registration plate, but their movements were captured on Mishra’s dashcam. After reviewing CCTV footage, police arrested Sachin and Praveen.

The actual shooter however, is still on the run. Megha was questioned but later released, despite allegations from Mishra’s family that she was involved in the conspiracy.

Police have booked Megha, her father, and her two brothers for murder, yet she remains free while her brother is in custody. The investigation continues.
