In today’s fast-paced world, many people shop online to save time. Almost everything is available on trusted apps, and lakhs of parcels are delivered daily. Cash on Delivery (COD) is still a popular payment option.
But as online shopping grows, scams are rising too. Fraudsters constantly look for ways to cheat. One of the most dangerous tricks is the COD scam, which is targeting people across India.
Fraudsters send fake parcels using the names of big shopping companies. Delivery boys from unknown courier services collect cash. The packet appears genuine, so many people pay without doubt. Later, they find useless items like old clothes, toys, or even garbage.
In Dehradun, two people received COD parcels addressed to them without placing any order. Believing them to be genuine, they paid, only to discover teaspoons and tissue papers inside.
On Amazon, one user ordered a tablet with COD but received fake speakers instead. He believes his order details were leaked, since the slip looked almost identical to his original order slip.
Influencer Tvisha Tuli has also warned her followers about such scams. Her message has spread awareness about the growing risk of fake COD deliveries.
The lesson is clear: if you do not remember placing an order, do not accept the parcel. Always check carefully before paying cash. Stay alert and protect your hard-earned money.
